Dan, you've highlighted Microsoft activism in pushing copyright/antipiracy legislation several times. I don't understand what the point is--the entire software industry is together with Microsoft (cool, they all actually agree on something!) on this, and everyone is benefitting. Microsoft has been among the most vocal, but it's the entire software industry that has made the push.

Dan, can't disagree with the technical aspects--but I don't think they're the big issue. Many users like the idea of OS/Browser integration (afterall, it's all about customers), and atleast [finally! for the first time, ever!] Microsoft did something "innovative" with the integration thing. Personally, I much prefer to run IE4/Windows than plain Windows.
