That's what "single payer" is all about. Government tells health care providers exactly what their patients are going to pay for their services, period.

Of course, my choice of words may be confusing, since "monopoly" typically applies only to suppliers, not consumers. But the net effect is the same. One side effectively controls all the prices, only this time the control is on the other side of the supply-and-demand curve.

That's "progress" according to big-government liberals.
