Romney Invites Christie and Ryan to Summer Event

Mitt Romney plans a get-together this summer to consider his future political and business roles — and he’s invited Chris Christie and Paul Ryan.
The Los Angeles Times obtained an email to guests in which Romney said he hoped to see the conference unite “political, business and other thought leaders.” The event is scheduled for this summer in Park City, Utah. It is sponsored by his son Tagg’s company Solamere Capital, which Romney recently joined.
Romney has held similar events in past years for campaign donors. A Park City event in June 2012 drew 700, the Times reported, and included foreign policy and business panel discussions.
The Times notes that potential 2016 presidential candidates might benefit from rubbing elbows with Romney donors.
The cost to attend the four-day event June 4-8 is $5,000, Politico reports. “We are calling the event, Experts and Enthusiasts,” Romney said in the email. “As we only have capacity for a small group of people to be part of this gathering, invitations will be kept to a limited group of industry and thought leaders.”
