If there were a nation wide usage of "self driving vehicles" it wouldn't be long before virus, hardware and software glitches caused major car crashes. It would be a very helpless feeling watching it unfold from within one such vehicle.

I am not saying that it would never be successful, but it certainly will have major bumps in the road. No pun intended.
