Bentway,
If Republicans insist on cutting government spending, what wrong with cutting something like White House tours - that don't contribute to anyone's health or welfare?
Let's say we took both Obama and Trump at face value.

Obama cut the White House tours because government has to cut its spending and the tours don't contribute to anyone's health or welfare. It's just a benefit for tourism and education.

Trump comes along and says he wants to help fund the tours because he believes in the value of tourism and education.

The logical conclusion should be that Obama accepts the money, reopens the tours, and thanks Trump for continuing the tradition.

Of course that's not happening because Trump is an asshole, or Obama is an asshole, or both.

Politics as usual.
