Seriously, koan, you really believe Americans would have had the ability to understand the political ramifications in Iraq.......those same Americans who when in Europe and are not understood when speaking English, start speaking louder [in English] because they believe that a Spaniard or a Frenchman or an Italian will then understand what they are saying. Those Americans? And lets not forget, many of your fav pols, the Dems, were also on board for the invasion. There was only small minority of Americans who were against the war after Colin Powell pulled his presentation stunt at the UN. I repeat.......Americans allowed themselves to get duped. BTW the problem in Iraq wasn't tribal, that was Libya......in Iraq, it was about religious schisms between Sunnis and Shi'ites. Aaaaahhhhh. So that is where you are coming from! A few things: 1) Moyers and Donahue were not shaping the news. They were telling the true is all. They were the only ones who had the guts to tell the truth!!! 2) FOX lies. It is a tabloid! that is waht tabloids do. Ezra Klein and Rachel Maddow/FOX news! 3) News is multi diminsional. MSNBC has started using professors because they have rightly figured out news happens in context. The news should have explained the tribal relationship in Iraq. Or the political balance between Shia and Sunnie and Iran and Iraq! Diane Sawyer et all, presented the news like one would to 6th graders.
