More sensationalism. The article makes many assumptions and the chart it includes in the article refutes the content and conclusions they make.
Assuming that the chart is correct (which forward looking estimates rarely ever are), it still shows global oil demand increase of ~3 million bbls/day by 2020 when allowing for fuel efficiencies. The article completely ignores this.
The article assumes that global populations can afford to switch over from oil to ng use.
The article does not address the fact that oil demand outside the US is growing at a faster rate than it is dropping within the US.
The article does not address the difficulty in getting global LNG infrastructure to a level that could accommodate a global shift away from oil use. It is not exactly a cheap proposition on that scale.

Too many assumptions and "matter of fact" conclusions for me to swallow on a 5-7 year time scale.
