America is one of or probably the only country in the world where double jeopardy is prohibited in our Constitution.

You should look at Germany's law, the country you admire so much, there's no protection against double jeopardy.

Read the link Harris provided.......apparently he didn't. By Constitution, double jeopardy is prohibited in Mexico, Canada, and the US, and by statute, in many other countries. In other words, the prohibition of double jeopardy is not unique to the US.
