What a load of malarkey. Amerindians were genocidal hunter gatherer alpha male dominance hierarchy tribal territorialists who did not "manage" their environment. They were part of the animal world which hunted as best they could. With low human numbers, they couldn't obliterate the landscape because they depended on it, and as much as they could succeed, they starved themselves out and died off in droves. Just like rabbits eating themselves out of house and home and wolves eating every last rabbit they can get their jaws on before dying off in droves for lack of rabbits. <But now, in recent years, the wisdom of Indian land management policies is increasingly difficult to cover up." > Yes, if nearly everyone dies, then the remainder could live like they did back then - nobody, including the descendants of the Amerindians, wants to live like that, though some of them like to pose and pretend they are "natives" living an ecological life [while they roar around on snowmobiles with high-powered rifles and Globalstar phones].
