Many users like the idea of OS/Browser integration (afterall, it's all about customers
Right, Sal, the customers were just clamouring for a new user interface, I mean it only took Microsoft 10 years to get their mac clone (sorta) right. But everybody was pounding Bill's door, demanding a new one. Just like "browser integration" was in the plans way back in '93 or so. Microsoft may get to write its own history in the end, but it's a little early for that stuff just yet.
Oh, and the general feeling I got was that people weren't that wild about "Active Desktop" and all this push rigamarole, but I guess that's just the nefarious ilk conspiracy in the press again. Of course, ActiveX seems to be being recast as DNS/DNA in the new version of Microspeak, so maybe we'll get the Digital Nervous Desktop next. Me, I'm nervous already, Windows has started going on these strange 5 second pauses for me. Time to prepare for the old reformat/reinstall, and say that prayer again.
Cheers, Dan. |
