This man actually believes that a staged photo op will trump actual performance.

If he sports a serious, meditative look on his face, while holding a basketball as if he knows what to do with it, the populace will believe he’s adept a hoop shooting (never mind that his success rate is 10%).

If he sits behind his desk in the oval office with a deeply contemplative, concerned, and intelligent look on his face, the populace will believe he is doing everything within his saintly power to bring America back to greatness (never mind that he despises everything our Founders envisioned and is seeking to destroy, and then resurrect America in his own image).

Photo ops, and glib speeches filled with mindless fantasy and empty promises, are amazing things. They appear to carry more significance to the American public than character or resumé.

A reprise of fifth century Rome is not a pleasant prospect, but is becoming more inevitable with each passing day.
