There is that argument, and I don't know to what extent it is or isn't true.

But I do know that declaring NPs should receive equal pay, which is effectively what they've done, is a dumbing down of health care that should not be tolerated. NPs != MDs. I can see no reason they should be required by government to be compensated as though they were.
