>Yes, but one of Obama's priorities when taking office wasn't deficit reduction or the economy, but rather the passing of ObamaCare, which has been a long-standing goal of the Democratic Party.

>That huge increase in government is the very opposite thing that should have been done if the economy or the deficit were priorities.

1. The deficit is only one of many factors in the economy.

2. Keeping Americans alive and healthy should be a higher priority than decreasing the deficit.

3. If Obamacare is going to increase the deficit, it hasn't yet. Most of what it's going to do doesn't even kick in until 2014 or later.

>That along with other actions by the Obama administration makes the deficit his to own. What's the point of saying that Obama inherited a mess when he's going to leave behind a bigger mess?

Because he hasn't. The deficit is decreasing. And that's not particularly important to me. If it happens, good. But if it happens at the expense of people's jobs or well-beings, then bad.
