Morpher, the reality is that Datek does work trades as an MM from time to time, the monthly account statements confirm this. Check your statements and you will see that Datek acts mainly as a principal and at times an MM (3MM on the line item). Is this a big deal? It is if you don't want to buy at the top and sell at the bottom.
