John - you know, you're mistakenly pumping me up like a hot air balloon. I am brain deficient but my few interests in life are stock, women and gadget, not necessarily in that order, so if I concentrate in a few things, I should do at least OK.
Back to the subject of ASND, I just browse through their neighborhood and there is talk that LU may not have enough cash for this acquisition, and Cisco may jump in also. Now my own hype. I think all these acquisitions will bring some excitement back to the network sector without requiring that the companies making any money. If LU is willing to pay at least a 40% premium for ASND stock, then a high PE for all network stocks is justifiable.
Remember all the mergers in the banking, airlines, phone sectors are fueling the stock a while ago. Now it's the network sector turn, so we're not dead after all. If this acquisition will come true, the bad news from 3Com, CS, NN will be soon forgotten. |
