Yea, and they tried to grab the last bit and toss it into the stock market. Greenspan and Bernanke pretty much bankrupted the whole thing... as well as causing anyone in debt (including governments of course) to WAY underestimate future liabilities. In another day and time they would be falling on their swords in a few years.
