Was your SEP call one of those 10% Buys?

Both you and I scrutinized that one using several value measures and each of us concluded that around $28.00/share it was a screaming value buy. I ended selling out way too soon, thinking I might be able to get back into the position a a slightly lower price. That never happened.

I believe you stepped up Nov 14, 2012 with one of your larger Buys. The stock proceeded to move up 45% in the next four months.

So, to me there are points where the market is not valuing a company correctly. It's all about the risk/reward opportunity. Maybe three or four of these present themselves a year. Our group who post here on the value thread are pretty smart and we tend to identify several of these undervalued stock candidates.

The overall gain in an actively managed portfolio is knowing when to step up and place the "BIG" bet. In November I did this with GSTpA. SEP and several of the other MLP's were good candidate selection too.

However, I need to convince myself to place that big bet more often (w/ appropriate stops) to really grow the portfolio.
