Since I forgot who emailed me the question, forgive that I post the answer here:
Probabilistic Neural Networks are theoretically and practically the most suitable
neural net algorithm for financial market forecasting (as compared to Hopfield,
back-propogation, Bayesian, forward-feed nets and most other variations). The
March/April issue of the Journal of Computational Intelligence in Finance
had a good paper on it. The best recent publication on this
stuff in general is The Application of Neural Networks in the
Forecasting of Share Prices by Robt. Van Eyden - about $60.

...and here I was wondering why people don't invite me hang out with them in
sports bars...
