the northern hemisphere covers literally half of the world. And it is the half that is north of the equator. The southern hemisphere covers literally the other half of the world. Outside of some local anomalies, every year around this time of year, temperatures in the northern hemisphere start to rise. They call this phenomenon "spring". Also at this time of year, temperatures generally start to fall in the southern hemisphere. They call this phenomenon "autumn" or "fall".
