Excuse me but its not just my interpretation...
I know it's not just your interpretation. Basic reading comprehension would tell you that.

What counts here is whether the USSC ever adopted the interpretation that you think is the only valid one. I'm pointing out that they never did, not even in that Cruikshank case that you probably dug up from some Google search (but forgot to recheck for accuracy).
