Yes, the key word is 'discriminate', The reason for registering gun owners is not for discrimination purposes.
So your analogy doesn't apply.

Yes it does, the analogy was to the database created by the government that was later used to slaughter millions of Hutsi. Was the reason given by the government for establishing that database, to murder millions of Hutsi?

Databases are often used for alternative purposes once they are established, and you can't guarantee this one would not be used for other purposes.

And you never answered my question.

1) Your question was irrelevant. Since your first position had to do with use of a database to discriminate, not whether the law to establish the data base discriminates.

2) In addition, I did answer it because I showed how the law targeted the specific population of people Obama identified in his campaign speeches as political adversaries ("love their guns and religion").

Of course we know what it will be used for.............the legislation will define its intent.

Stated intent and the events which follow are often at odds. The claws of this entangled body of intention have hold of something beneath the veil and every lucid human being knows it.
