Sinclair's sounding a little chastened by the rout Friday: <<Will the rest of the world accommodate the effort to depress the gold price as a means of supporting the US dollar? That is the key question to which the answer will be shortly revealed. The gold market is a market of sovereigns now, and not a paper group of speculators and investors with differing interests.>> He insists the suppression can't succeed, but now he's formulating it as a question, and saying things such as "I believe that . . ." His historical reassurance is more equivocal than it appears, since the decade following POG's last collapse was a looooong one. At this rate, with extortionate borrowing costs, many miners will be queuing up at the emergency room.

We shall see.
