What partisan garbage. Obama has indeed repeatedly claimed that he would have voted for Illinois’ version of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act if it had included stipulations to protect abortion rights guaranteed by Roe v. Wade, as did the federal version of the bill that was passed by the U.S. senate. As usual, he was lying. A 2003 Illinois Health and Human Services Committee report documents a unanimous 10-0 vote by the committee, which Obama chaired at the time, to amend their BAIPA to include the exact same language that was added to the federal version in order to protect Roe v. Wade. What did Obama then do, once his committee agreed to include that language? He voted to kill the bill in committee so that it could not advance to the senate floor. Evil, disguised by glib, self-serving verbiage, is still evil.
