Ariel & JQC: I saw an ad recently which showed a picture of a duplex wall outlet (receptacle). The headline read, "It's not really portable if you need one of these."

As you both know, that's my beef. What we need is dirt cheap single-use batteries that last 10 times longer than Duracells and Energizers. That's what we need. All this rechargeable stuff that's 25 or 50% better (maybe) misses the point. Even 8-10 hours of charging, for each 8-10 hours of use, means you are tied up for 8-10 hours at some plug. That's terrible. Try this:

The road is my life. My life is long flights. Short nights. Hotel food. And conference rooms. My notebook PC is my office. My files and notes, and everything that matters. My cellphone is my secreatary. Where are the batteries I need to make my life real again?
