I would tend to agree with you, except...Ashby's comments did not hit the wires until after market close. Mid-day news bulletins all quoted takeover rumors... >>It seems obvious that the rise was due to the CEO's comments of being positive for the 4Q. Afterall, look at the time the rally started, prior to that we were dead. This buyout by Lucent is old news or old rumor.<<
