I've been going to post UNXL (Unipixel) since it was in the 26's last week. I know that sounds like a likely story but it's true. The touch screen technology they have is supposed to be really good - they're not the only game in town but since everything is headed towards touch screen there's enough business to satisfy several companies.

What I need is a techie guru to explain 2 things
  • Why this product is superior and why UNXL is going to become the 800lb gorilla
  • Why the product isn't a big deal and why it could fail

Here are some things of note:

  • They've had some nasty EPS misses in the past which raises concern about management. Trust and good future vision when it comes to EPS projections matter.
  • Analysts have it rated a 1.7 on a scale of 5 Buy/Sell finance.yahoo.com
  • The Growth rate this year is projected to be 177% / next year 73.3% / next 5 years 25% finance.yahoo.com
  • The PE is a little rich but the rate of growth (if met) makes up for it
  • It was up 16% today so a PB is likely in the cards
  • The chart, while extended, says buy with a P&F prelim. bullish objective of 61 stockcharts.com[PA][D20130416][F1!3!!!2!20]&pref=G
  • There are 10 mil shares outstanding / 8 mil in float (approx) and 4.75 mil SHORT! finance.yahoo.com
  • The stock is up from around $5.00 per share in Oct of 2012 to $37.00 per share today.
  • There are some balance sheet issues finance.yahoo.com and finance.yahoo.com

Some on Seeking Alpha have equated this company to a 50/50 lottery ticket. I've read about deals with EK, I think Samsung and potential deals to come with Dell and INTC. Shorts have been covering (based on the increased volume) but when half the float is shorted (as of Mar 28th) I suspect there are plenty still short. If any of the rumored deals come to pass the short squeeze could be amazing. That said, when a company only has 10 million shares outstanding there's a lot of room for major volatility.

What I need is help evaluating this company because it has the potential to be a many bagger if things fall into place. I'm making no predictions and I've avoided posting aggressive & speculative plays on this thread but this one has me intrigued. Anyone want to take me up on doing some joint homework?
