Yes you did post it, but I have a memory ever more like a sieve as I age, so thanks for reposting it. I am going to try the high temperature bake idea of yours and skip the oil and kneading in the next week or two.

Do you have crumpets in the USA? I cant remember, but I have always wondered how they made the modern variety that is full of holes. I used to think that must have had a machine to punch them in -lol- They are popular here toasted with butter. The previous link had a demonstration of the process. Its basically a scone recipe made with yeast, and bicarbonate added at the end for a supercharged second rise.
