Effective people are hated by those who try to get in their way. Margaret Thatcher rescued Britain from the unions and creeping socialism. Once she left power the creeps got back into power and started reverting to the failed socialist ways. Of course those who want free stuff rather than to be responsible for their own well being would hate an effective person who restored freedom. Freedom and socialism are antonyms.
