When I was younger I could not understand the oldtimers mistrust of banks, thought they were crazy, how could you not trust the great banks? You've heard the stories of folks filling their mattresses with money and valuables, even had an uncle who did the same, I found this out after he died.
Difficult to get out of the "system" these days, but every bit helps, it can be done, beat "the man" at his own game.
