First, China will need to devalue their own currency to compete, and they will devalue it. Secondly, it will make no difference whether the imports are taiwnese or not: the pricing pressures and lack of demand will still occur. Seagate, for example, produces a good portion of its disk drives in the far east. It hasn't helped demand for their products or alleviated pricing pressures.
