The speech recognition has a long way to go.

I've used the IBM software on my 233MHz K6 and it runs OK, but the software itself has problems. The variation in the number of words recognized from one person to the next is large. It only gets about 70% of my words, and less than 50% for many people. So now the software doesn't get used much. If the software gets better, then I would have some really good uses for it. Voice recognition works best with single word responses, especially where there are a limited number of word choices.

I wouldn't count on this to rally Intel any time soon. BTW, where does the thread think a buying floor exists for Intel? My guess is that the stock doesn't bottom until next June/July at the earliest. I hope to buy the shares I sold in the mid-90s back below 50 then. In the meantime, the market is passing ol' Intel by.

I sold my AMD as well. I think the price and margin pressures are going to be unbelievable. Most people can't use the desktop computer power they have now. The sub-zero PC will rule the masses of the earth.
