No, parents get jailed for neglect, as well as for resisting medical intervention, even when it skirts on their religion in some cases (think JW and blood transfusions).

You would try to recast the problem as active choice, vs passive natural causes. That is BS. If a couple consistently produced babies which died shortly after birth, the bulk of people would get fed up with them if they kept it up.
