Neolib, the context in this discussion is abortion.

You're trying to counter the notion that life begins at conception by arguing over zygotes and drawing some sort of "gradual life curve" between that and actual birth.

When a mother finds out that she's pregnant and decides she wants to carry the baby to term, she does NOT call her unborn child a "zygote," or an "embryo," or a "fetus." Nor does she treat it as if it's only a fraction of a life. She treats it like a complete life, full of potential and growing.
