School kids who knew them said pretty much the same thing. So, that leaves us worse off than better off.
Its one thing if they are described as crazy types like Adam Lanza, its another if they are known as decent and normal.

It is clear they were radicalized and it isn't clear yet how or by who, which means the inspiration of this idea is still out there and we have no way of knowing how much influence that inspirer has on others. Much like Anwar al-Awlaki inspired Nidal Malik Hasan to commit murders at Fort Hood, and is known to have had a major influence on young men when he lived in the USA. Anwar was known as an charismatic person who was seen as a role model by young men in America and was connected with many terrorist acts before he was killed by a drone in Yemen.

This is not going to be settled simply by capturing the bombers.
