Bocor:

I usually pass thru this thread occasionally and just happened across your UNS comment. I bought 1000 shares in 1992 at 2 1/4 when it was TEP and really beat down due to some BOD corruption. UNS acquired it and did a reverse 5 to 1 split in 1996. Have reinvested divvys since and own close to 400 shares now so have also enjoyed a nice cap gain while holding for divvys. They are the dominant electric provider to Southern Arizona based in Tucson and have paid a consistent and growing divvy.

They are somewhat rate restricted by the Arizona Corporation Commission which is currently reviewing a new rate increase application that will probably be awarded in some proportion. Despite Southern Az being somewhat economically depressed right now, UNS has managed consistent earnings. With a 3.6% current yield, a nice cap gain, and a probable rate increase I will continue to hold
