Eric and all, apparently it was the older brother, the one assuming room temperature at the moment, who was the radical, and that he got his younger brother involved:

This means there's still a chance that the younger brother, who's holed up right now, will come to his senses and will surrender without a fight. Then maybe we can get more clues on how these brothers became radicalized.
