I totally agree with your interpretation of the recent price action. The fact that only 1 large block traded all day should send out a signal that no one is blatantly dumping it. Granted, some big boys may be selling in small chunks, but if there was horrible news on the horizon, then the player would get out no matter what the price in a large block, like "sell all of my damn shares NOW!". But, that hasn't happened. Rather, we get these really strange price moves on high or low volume that difficult to judge.
I do agree with the post that if Reed knew of bad news, especially in retirement, he'd have sold MUCH MORE than 7% of his total stake. Threat of lawsuit or not, a 50% or 75% sell would have made much more sense, at least he'd be able to use it to defend himself in a legal action! No, I believe that VLNC IS on the verge, but don't have a clue with how to handle the investment community. I would expect some sort of announcement from the company before the end of the year. (Teach the year-end tax loss sellers a lesson for selling too early.)
Does anyone know who the company's outside PR firm? Please post. Maybe we should deluge the firm with calls to ask for an official response from the company. Come on, give us an update! |
