What century is your mind in or which decade? Unless you mean reference to the stories about holy visions, miracles, redemption, and divine intervention being nothing more than “foeda superstitio” — vulgar superstition? What part of past centuries dating back to the dark ages of beliefs in demons & witchcraft did you miss in your history lessons? The brutal tortures of those accused of heresy on both sides and that demonizing leading to persecutions & wars which saw millions murdered over what would be regarded as only insignificant doctrinal rituals now?

And the demonzing hasnt gone away in your case, some things & personalities never change one supposes , thats also part of the lesson of history.
