Okay, I will be the one to disagree with the danger of options, specifically puts.

Each to his own, and if you're making money good luck to you.

The thing I like about buying and holding good stocks is that it's a positive sum game, while options are a zero-sum game.

To put it another way, even an idiot can make nice returns through buy and hold, but in options the average player makes no profit before trasaction costs, and actually loses money on average after transaction costs. I like playing games where idiots can win. It gives me a fighting chance.
