I saw that Sy Harding's 'sell in May' signal was triggered as of the close on Friday. The next earliest entry date is 10/16/2013. Sy uses a modified 'sell in May' signal that uses the MACD of the DOW. It believe the signal can occur within 2 weeks on either side of May 1st and October 31st. Supposedly this modified 'sell in May' signal gives a better entry and exit point. I don't remember the exact MACD values he uses for this signal.
