Exactly. As with eminent domain, there are trade-offs that have to be made if you're going to have progress. But it has to be kept reasonable. Tiny towns like West, TX generally have little, if any zoning -- because that's what they want. I live in the country -- 10-15 miles from anywhere -- and while I'm free from city influences, the price I pay is that if someone wants to build a hog farm next door I can't stop them. It is a trade I'm willing to make.
