No opinion, on the level that it may reach -- much depends on the how the bonds behave from this point on. The strength reported in these numbers will be counter-balanced by the perception of the slow-down because of Asia and that may be why the bonds are not down even more.

Without worrying about levels that the S&P may reach, Ike is right in that the strength may at least offer some comfort to those who feel that the Asian problem might overwhelm the economy here--and at the same time because of the Asia problem, the Fed is constrained as far as raising rates.
