He just wasn't a very big thinker. Nothing more or less I think. That is true of most right wingers. It isn't they are malicious per se, they simply do not see what liberals see, or feel (compassion) what liberals feel. And they get defensive because they cannot defend their positions, nor see ours. I have come to realize it is as simple as that. They need to know what they are seeing is not very sophisticated, so they can work to up their game. They need to know their world is a fantasy world. Right wingers have no idea what a liberal is about. We see them, but they cannot see us. And they don't know that.
