We had the Friday night fights here last night. A car full of boys stopped in front of the house next door that has 3 teenage girls living there. Pretty soon there was a lot of shouting and screaming that turned into fisticuffs and someone called the cops.

One of the neighbors came out and tried to stop the fighting by saying he'd called the cops. But the fighting continued. I couldn't really see too well and decided to go see what was going on. The neighbor repeated that the cops were on their way. Usually the cops are there immediately but it took about 12-13 minutes for them to get there and then it was 8 cars of them, but the boys had left.

The teenagers next door denied they knew who the boys were (right) but said they had been drinking. The neighbor gave the police a description of the car and the 6 boys in it. I heard one cop say to the other, "Sounds like Bennie and the Jets." So, I just had to ask, "Who's that?" The cop said it was some kids they were familiar with.

Then the cop, who seemed to be in charge, announced that if a bunch of kids want to get out of their car and wail on each other, then ... well, I guess they can.

The neighbor reminded the cop that it was a car full of drunk teenagers driving around the town. The cop said that he knew and they would probably get another call about them.

Didn't hear about any accidents and will have to wait until the Thursday paper to come out to read the police report to find out if anything more happened.
