I have seen this many times before and it usually always goes up to the expected price. ANy thoughts?

I would never expect the stock to go up the expected price. Even after a deal is announced.

For example, it was recently announced that Sony would buy Telemundo at 44. The latter is still just trading at 41 and change. Uncertainty -- particularly with the rumor status of the ASND situation -- plainly calls for a discount.
