OK, this is a classic example of "racist right-wing propaganda."

But the reason to secure our southern border really is about economics. It has nothing to do with racism. It has to do with millions of people in this country who do drain our resources. They receive government benefits, they send large portions of their earnings "back home" instead of reinvesting/spending here in the states and in many cases, do not pay taxes.
Points:

  1. "They receive government benefits." Exactly what government benefits do you think they can receive? In order to receive any type of government benefits you must have a government ID (being here without any documentation means they can not get a government ID) and Social Security Number (Not an ITIN). Did you know they can not even receive aid from the Salvation Army because they require the same documents? Educating their children is paid for by local property taxes, which they also pay. Even if you rent, you are paying property taxes, as they are a part of your rent, so they are also paying for their children's education...as well as paying for the education of other people's children if they have none of their own. Exactly what benefits do you think they are getting? You have documented proof? I can supply it from my end (Government documentation).
  2. "They send large portions of their earnings back home". If they actually did that, how could they afford to pay their bills? And even if they did do this, what is wrong with sending their savings outside the united States for investment? A great many US citizens do this in the form of "off-shore accounts" and foreign hedge funds. Should they be different just because they are not "white"? And along with the money they send, they also purchase billions of dollars of things here in the United States that are not available in their home countries and send that home as well, giving that boost to our job market and economy.
  3. "Do not pay taxes". In fact, the majority DO pay taxes, by receiving what is known as an Individual Taxpayer identification Number from the IRS and using that to file their taxes with. As a matter of fact, they pay an estimated $11.5 billion or more per year. In addition, they also pay billions into Social Security using their ITIN, which is used to help shore up that system-and which they will never ever collect. So in fact, they DO pay taxes and contribute to a higher degree than you do, since they are paying into a system from which they will never draw from (Social Security). (Once again, I can supply government documentation to support this.)
  4. "Narco-terrorists". What you are referring to here is actually a civil war, though no one wants to call it that. Over 60,000 innocent civilians have been killed so far (but Republicans and tea Party people don't care...after all they aren't Americans or even white, right?), more than the US number of dead from the whole Vietnam war. On one side, you have the drug cartels trying to wrest control of operating territory from the government and each other, and on the other side the Mexican government trying to defeat them and bring order. Caught in the middle are the working people. Many people flee to the United States because their lives are in serious danger there. I know this for a fact from personal experience. If you have a job there and make any kind of money, you will start receiving death threats and kidnapping threats. Either you agree to pay, or family members start dying. So, the people fleeing there and coming here are actually refugees even though they are not officially recognized as such, nor are they given Temporary Protected Status by the US government...instead we give billions to Jordan to take care of refugees over there.
  5. "Terrorists coming here illegally". Show me proof. Show me one single terrorist or terrorist suspect that was caught or committed an act of terrorism that came here illegally. You will not find a single one. They all come here legally. After 9/11 focus was shifted from Muslims from the Middle East to Mexicans from south of the border in the interests of national Security-when there has not been one shred of evidence to support this view.

Sorry to say, but you have just been spouting the same information you have been fed without having the real knowledge to support this....the same way those who fed it to you have done. And you have also been supporting the Decline of the Republican Party by doing so. The basis of your views are not rooted in economics. They really are based on racism, unintentionally on your part, as you may have simply been misinformed. All of the above are facts, and you can check them. What you have just said are some of the main reasons that, even though those of Hispanic descent do share the same views, ethics and values that the Republican party claim to possess, they will never get the Hispanic vote. Everyone knows Hispanics are hard working. They are also very proud and a vast majority will not take a handout because of that pride. They would rather work for it. They are overwhelmingly religious (vast majority are Catholic), and as such are also extremely pro-life. Being Catholic, to them abortion is murder. Coming from a very financially conservative society, they too are financially conservative. However, as long as the Republican party and Tea Party people choose to use derogatory language, slander and threaten to deport their mothers, fathers, aunts and uncles, they will never support you. (See Mark Levin and his rants against anyone who is Hispanic.)
