According to that video the Bank of Canada is running their own virtual currency backed by other currency denominated assets. What would that be? Do you know?

I looked. It's called MintChip.

As the WSJ blog says, it's stalled....

mint.ca

mint.ca

mintchipchallenge.com

blogs.wsj.com

google.com

Then, in the text article the author says that CBs could shut down virtual currencies with the stroke of a pen.

They can't. The guy's operating from his FUD generator. Shut down the internet, maybe?

How does say, FED, shut down Canada's CB virtual currency?

It sends in the US Army.

Non joke countries don't have to care about bitcoin-like currencies. Folk have to pay taxes in the local currency.
