It is totally obvious when you read some of the wing nuts' talk about liberals that they hate them. A lot. And you've never been able to cure one winger of their "ignorance" have you?

Denmark still has right wingers, btw, they just don't have a lot of them- and they are lucky, they don't have as many religious nuts as we do. Also, when they embarked on their enlightened society they were all pretty homogenous, and great experiments with altruism are always easier when your population is very homogenous. Lucky America got most of the religious nuts of Europe, so we have that genetic reservoir of folks wired for religion, and so kooky about religion they can't get along with others. We also have a very diverse population, which makes it very hard for some people to see why helping people who don't look like they do could possibly be a good idea. The Danes have already started having problems with that as well, following their attempt to assimilate their Middle Eastern minorities.
