If I buy some shares in CSCO between the date of record and the payment date, will I still get the extra shares, or will I see my investment devalued by 1/2? I am pretty sure what the answer is, but I just want to hear someone else say it as well.

Yes you will. I've heard that the "Date of Record" is some accounting formality.

But call your broker for confirmation if it makes you feel better, that's what you pay him for.
