I haven't seen proof of the money thing...and only know what I was told by my family and others. Remember, my grandmother, who is still alive, raised kids during the Great Depression and had 3 at home at the start of WWII. I have the stories from her as well as my great aunt Juanita, her sister. (No, she was not Hispanic despite her name. My family was Scottish and married strictly Scottish for almost 200 years.) None of the immigrants in my family would fit your bill.
